Wondering how our rugs are made? We, at BONNIBOLD, will tell you: The carpets are made in winter by the few Anatolian, nomadic women and girls who are still alive.Making carpets is an important part of their income. With the earnings that result from this, they keep their families afloat. If you take a closer look, you will notice that each carpet tells its own story. The nomads live out their patterns and colors during production. They weave their dreams and feelings into the carpet. This makes each model an absolute one-off!
There is a story behind every kilim. The motifs worked into the carpet are images that the nomads have passed on from generation to generation over the centuries. Would you like to know what story the pictured kilim tells? We'll tell you: A hand, fingers and a comb are depicted on the carpet. The hand is intended to represent human labor, productivity and efficiency. The finger serves as protection against the evil eye. The crest is said to symbolize luck and fertility.
